We make scrubs. That is a bias, so here is our method. We read every substantial Mandala Scrubs discussion we could find across r/nursing and r/Residency going back four years, plus published reviews from Trusted Health and Advantis Med, and we pulled pricing and policy detail from the Mandala site. We have not worn these ourselves, so there is no invented wear test below. Every opinion is attributed to the nurse who said it.

Buried in a r/Residency thread, a nurse who had bought roughly a dozen pairs over several years reported that Mandala significantly changed their pant cut, describing pants bought before the change as straighter through the hips and pants after it as much more curvy-cut and higher rise. She said she had to start sizing down, and that when she contacted customer service about it, the team was pleasant but had no explanation for the change.
This single detail explains most of the contradictory reviews you will read. One nurse saying the hips run wide and another saying they run tight may simply have bought in different eras. If you are reading a review of Mandala pants, check when it was written.

The fabric does not stretch much
This is the root of most fit complaints. In a 2026 cross-brand comparison thread, a nurse who owns FIGS, Jaanuu, Mandala and Fabletics said Mandala does not stretch as much as they would like for mobility, naming bending and kneeling specifically. A detailed reviewer put it more bluntly, noting there is no stretch to the fabric, which means if you carry weight through your midsection there may be no size that fits well everywhere.

Multiple nurses reported needing to size down on tops while bottoms ran as expected. One said the tops run large enough that she wears an XXS despite being an XS elsewhere. Another, at 5 ft 4 in and 130 lb, wore an XS top and a small bottom and thought she could have gone smaller on the bottom too.
