Second, a commenter in the same thread said her Carhartt scrubs are her favorite scrubs she owns, and then added that they are from a line that has been discontinued.
Neither person is complaining about quality exactly. They are both saying the specific garment that earned their loyalty is no longer the one on the shelf. Carhartt runs multiple scrub lines, currently marketed under names including Cross-Flex and Force, and rotates them.

The single most specific negative in any thread came from a male nurse in r/Nurses writing a detailed wish list for scrub design. He said he loves Carhartt scrubs but cannot wear the pants, quoting a colleague who called the saddle weird, and reported that every pair he owned split at the crotch.
He was not making a general durability complaint. He was describing a geometry problem, and in the same post he asked for a reinforced crotch given how much squatting the job involves. If you are a taller or longer-torsoed man, that is the specific failure point to watch on the pants, even though the tops draw praise from the same people.

The look is utilitarian, not trendy
The r/MedicalAssistant commenter put this plainly and without complaint: the aesthetic is more utilitarian than trendy. She then noted she gets compliments on a bright violet set, so the colors are not all workwear neutrals. Whether that reads as understated or plain is a taste question, not a quality one.
